Money is an Energy. What Do You Spend It On?

I've been reading a book called, The Millionare Next Door, the Surprising Secrets of America's Wealthy by Thomas J Stanley, PhD and William D Danko, PhD, again. I really resonated with it in many ways, reminding me that money is an energy. It was originally written in the mid 1990s and has been updated several times since.

What do you imagine when you think of a millionaire?

What comes to mind when you think of a millionaire? Do you think flashy cars, boats, expensive clothes, McMansions etc? Well, surprisingly, you might just have one living next door to you or on your street. They aren't the flashy status-symbol wearing rich people that we are conditioned to think of, but most of them are entrepreneurs of one type or another.

The authors point out the blindingly obvious: that in order to become millionaires, many have been frugal with their money in order to achieve that status.  If you earn a lot of money and spend a lot of money, you will never be someone with wealth. This reminds me again, that money is an energy. Did you grow up thinking that all millionaires flash their cash everywhere, live in mansions, drive new cars, and spend, spend, spend? Me too.

This is a fascinating book that will teach you how to create wealth in your life. It will help you help your children too.  I think it will serve you well to read it. Consider it mandatory reading!

How are you being of service to others?

This book got me thinking - REALLY thinking - about what I do, and what my friends do and what we all do. I understand that money is a reward for service rendered. The more service I render, the more money will flow to me . This obviously applies to you too! This is something I really resonate with. Do you work for money or does money work for you? Have you considered that before?

The fact is, money is an energy. If you are frugal and take care of your money and keep a balance, you will always have this energy in your bank account - energy on which you can live. And if you spend all your money, then you will not have that energy available to you. So be frugal - prudent and economical - with it. Make sure you make it work for you and allow it to grow!

Our relationship with money is a fascinating subject to me. I could talk about it forever. I have created a new mindset around money for myself over the last two and a half years, helping me to create the life I really want to live.
